MEANRANK has no accounts and no sign-up. What it stores, why, and how to remove it are set out below.

What is stored on your device

Clearing cookies and site data for this domain removes all of it from your device. The viewing history kept on the server (below) is then no longer linked to your browser, and is deleted after 90 days.

What is stored on the server

Two things, both tied to the random device_id above and never to you personally:

A short viewing history — the last 30 titles opened from your browser, so “Recently viewed” works. Each title is deleted 90 days after you last opened it, or straight away with the button below.
A view counter per title — a single number on each title, incremented when the page loads. It powers “Trending”. It records that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.

Standard web server logs (IP address, request, timestamp, browser string) are written by the hosting infrastructure for security and debugging, as they are for any website. They are not used to build profiles and are deleted after about two weeks.

Your viewing history

The server holds no viewing history for this browser.

What this site does not do

No user accounts, so no names, emails or passwords are collected from readers.
We don't sell, rent or share personal data with data brokers.
No newsletter and no marketing email.

Advertising

This site may show advertising. An ad network sets its own cookies and may use them to show more relevant ads across other sites. That is outside our control and governed by the network’s own privacy policy rather than this one. Ads never affect a score, a ranking or a list.

There is nothing to choose at the moment: the site sets only the cookies listed above, which it needs to work. If that changes, a choice will appear here, and on the page, before any other cookie is set.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from most networks at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.

Third parties your browser contacts

Some content is served from other domains, which means your browser makes a request to them and they can see your IP address and browser string, as with any embedded resource on any site:

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — the two typefaces.
TMDB (image.tmdb.org) — some poster and profile images.
Amazon / IMDb image hosts (m.media-amazon.com) — some poster images.

Links out to IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, streaming services and the rest are ordinary links. Once you follow one you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not this one.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. It has no accounts, and it never asks anyone, of any age, for a name, an email or a phone number.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection over personal data held about you. What this site holds is the viewing history tied to your browser's random device_id, and the server logs above. Neither is linked to a name. To delete your viewing history now, use the button above, before you clear cookies: the button finds your history by that cookie. For anything else, write to [email protected].

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
