Terms of use
Last updated 16 September 2026
Using this site means accepting what's below. It is short because the site is simple: it publishes numbers, it has no accounts, and it sells nothing.
What you may do
Read it, link to it, and quote it. Citing a MEANRANK score or a position in one of the rankings, with a link back, is welcome and needs no permission — in an article, a video, a forum post or a school assignment alike.
What isn't permitted without written agreement is bulk extraction: scraping the catalogue, or reproducing the rankings wholesale so that someone can use your copy instead of this site. Automated access that degrades the service for other people may be blocked. If you want the data in bulk, ask — the answer may well be yes.
Who owns what
- The ratings are not ours. Each score belongs to the platform that produced it. IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Tomatometer, Popcornmeter, Metacritic, Metascore, Letterboxd, Criticker, Douban, AlloCiné, Kinopoisk and TMDB are trademarks of their respective owners. MEANRANK is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any of them.
- The mean score, the grade and the rankings are ours. They are original work: the method, the thresholds and the confidence weighting are described in full on the method page.
- Most descriptions are ours, written for this site. Where one hasn’t been written yet, the summary comes from The Movie Database (TMDB), as the method page says.
- Awards data comes from Wikipedia and is available under CC BY-SA 4.0. If you reuse it, that licence follows it.
- Platform identifiers come from Wikidata, released under CC0.
- Posters, stills and profile images belong to the studios and distributors that produced them, and are shown here for identification. Several are delivered via the TMDB API. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Accuracy
The scores are computed correctly from the data held, but the data is collected from third parties and refreshed periodically rather than continuously. Ratings shown here can lag the platforms they came from, and a title can occasionally be matched to the wrong entry. The method page sets out what the numbers can and cannot tell you.
Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, rent or subscribe to anything, and the site is provided as-is, without warranty. Decisions about how to spend two hours of an evening are yours.
Streaming links
“Where to watch” reflects what TMDB reported for the United States when the title was last refreshed. Availability changes constantly and varies by country. The links lead to each service's own catalogue search — we can tell you a service carries a title, not that it still does today, and not what it costs. Which services appear is decided by that data, not by us.
Reporting a problem
Corrections, mismatched titles and rights concerns all go to the same place: [email protected]. If you hold rights in material shown here and want it removed, say which page and what the material is, and it will be taken down while it's looked at.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top shows when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
