In 1930, the Yugoslavian national football team is invited to its first World Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay. The film follows the underdog team's journey, both literal and metaphorical, as they travel by ship for weeks. They are a disparate group of young men from different backgrounds, united by their love for the game. The story captures their camaraderie, the challenges they face, and their hopes of making a mark on the world stage against much more established teams.
