A young Native American woman feels a deep connection to the natural world and senses a great change is coming. English settlers arrive, seeking gold and building a fort near her village. She forms a forbidden relationship with the expedition's captain, which becomes the only hope of preventing all-out war between their two cultures. She must bridge the widening gap of misunderstanding and help her people and the settlers see the world through each other's eyes.
