See the films the platforms disagree about most →A man named Yakov, who has recently left his ultra-Orthodox Jewish community, is struggling to make a life in Brooklyn. Desperate for money, he agrees to take a job sitting as a shomer, watching over the body of a deceased Holocaust survivor overnight—a traditional Jewish practice. Alone in the house with the body, he is tormented by a malevolent, supernatural entity known as a Mazzik, which feeds on trauma. Yakov must confront his own buried faith and personal demons to survive the night.
