A little piglet won at a county fair is adopted by a kind farmer. The pig, Babe, is taken in by the farm's border collies and believes he can be a sheep-pig. Through innocence and politeness, he learns to herd sheep without intimidation. He aims to compete in the national sheepdog trials, challenging the farm's traditions and proving that a pig can do the work of a dog.
