See the films the platforms disagree about most →This is a fictionalized account of the life of Ned Kelly, Australia's most famous outlaw. Told from his perspective, the story chronicles his life from a poor childhood to becoming a bushranger. It explores the events that shaped him, including the persecution of his family by the colonial authorities. Kelly and his gang become symbols of rebellion against the British ruling class, donning homemade armor for a final, violent confrontation. The narrative portrays Kelly as a complex figure, both a vicious criminal and a folk hero to the oppressed.
