In a divided Berlin, invisible angels wander the city, observing the thoughts and lives of its inhabitants, offering comfort but unable to interact. One angel grows weary of merely observing and becomes captivated by the raw, emotional experience of human life—particularly that of a lonely trapeze artist. He yearns to shed his immortality to experience love, pain, and the simple sensations of being human.
