In the 1950s, a painter achieves massive commercial success with her unique portraits of children with large, sad eyes. However, her charismatic husband takes credit for all the work, building a vast fortune and fame while she toils in secret. She must find the courage to challenge the elaborate lie and reclaim her art and identity in a male-dominated art world.
