A young Italian woman travels from her village to join her fiancé, a soldier stationed in a vibrant city. During the colorful and chaotic carnival season, she is swept up in the festivities and mistakenly believes she has witnessed her fiancé being unfaithful. Heartbroken and confused, she allows herself to be drawn into the whirl of masquerade balls and romantic intrigue, making impulsive decisions that could forever alter the course of her life amidst the masks and mistaken identities.
