See the films the platforms disagree about most →Set during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror, the film depicts the epic political struggle between two revolutionary leaders: the charismatic and populist Georges Danton and the ruthless, ideological Maximilien Robespierre. Danton, horrified by the endless bloodshed, calls for clemency and an end to the terror. Robespierre, seeing this as a counter-revolutionary threat, moves to eliminate his former ally. The conflict becomes a dramatic battle of ideals that will determine the fate of the revolution and send one man to the guillotine.
