In a remote Alpine village, a strong-willed and independent young woman nicknamed "Geierwally" (Vulture Wally) defies the harsh patriarchal traditions of her community. After a violent disagreement with her father over an arranged marriage, she is banished to live alone in a mountain hut. She gains fame and fear for her courage in hunting vultures. Her isolation is broken by her love for a free-spirited hunter, a relationship that challenges the old ways and incurs the wrath of a jealous rival.
