Based on a true story, the film is set in a small Sicilian town dominated by the Mafia. It follows the life of Peppino Impastato, a young left-wing activist who bravely uses his pirate radio station to openly mock and denounce the Mafia bosses, despite his own family's connections to them. His courageous activism puts him on a collision course with the powerful local don.
