A popular wedding singer in 1985 is left at the altar, making him cynical about love and unable to perform his job with his usual charm. He befriends a kind-hearted waitress who is engaged to a arrogant, wealthy jerk. As he helps her plan her wedding, they spend more time together and he realizes she is his perfect match, but she is already promised to someone else.
