A young man named Will Donner has chosen to live as a street performer, drifting from town to town, never putting down roots. His life is defined by his lifelong, unrequited love for his childhood friend, Emma. When he learns that Emma, now an actress, has returned to their hometown due to a family crisis, he follows her. He remains on the periphery of her life, watching over her, hoping for a chance to connect without revealing the depth of his obsession.
