In Tsarist Russia, a young Jewish woman is forced to obtain a yellow ticket, a document branding her as a prostitute, in order to travel beyond the Pale of Settlement to visit her ill father. The humiliating document subjects her to constant prejudice and danger. Her journey is a fight to maintain her dignity and integrity in a world determined to deny her both.
